Our Mission at Olivet is "Joining Jesus in His mission to rescue the lost and transform hearts and lives to his likeness".
Our mission is directly tied to Jesus' great commission in Mt 28:18-20. As followers of Christ, we see the need to be involved in reaching out into the community and the world to meet the needs of those around us. And every believer needs to be challenged to grow and be transformed in their walk with the Lord in order to make disciples who make more disciples.
Our Vision is that "Olivet will stand as a vital lighthouse by cultivating a strong disciplemaking culture and motivating God's people to personally engage in meeting the needs of our community and the world."
We will be a beacon of hope that guides people to Jesus, the light of the world (Phil 2:15, 2 Cor 4:6). Through the development of a relational disciplemaking culture, we will establish personal lighthouses in communities across West Michigan(Eph 5:8, Luke 15). Through strategic, local partnerships with specific community ministries, we will extend the light by meeting spiritual, emotional and physical needs in our community (James 2:14-26). As our disciplemaking culture grows, our beacon will extend well beyond west Michigan. In all of this, our purpose and passion is to maintain a laser-like focus on glorifying God as we seek to fulfill the great commission.
